What is ENERGY STAR®?
ENERGY STAR is a unique program that helps people around the country save money on their energy bills while protecting the environment. It's a partnership between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy that helps find new ways for families and businesses to be more green and energy-conscious.
All ENERGY STAR-qualified products have been tested to make sure they meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. So you can reduce your energy costs without ever sacrificing the comfort you're used to. To save money and the environment, look for the ENERGY STAR label on everything you buy.
ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs:
- Use 66-75% percent less energy and operate cooler than incandescent light bulbs
- Last 6 to 10 times longer than incandescent light bulbs
- Are available in a variety of shapes and styles, like globe, spiral, 3-way and dimmable
